  1. Inverness! That’s my town! Gee, what a lousy way for this sleepy little burg to be notable.

The guy has an IQof 65. He’s retarded. How he managed to keep that girl locked up for three days while the cops searched all around that neighborhood is beyond me. They should have found her before she was buried alive. Poor police work, if you ask me.

  2. Jersey,

If I remember the case correctly, the police actually went to the home where this guy was living but relatives lied to the police, saying that he had left. I don’t know what the standard is for obtaining a search warrant are in such cases. Perhaps there was not sufficient evidence to get a search warrant to search the place, given the testimony of the relatives to the effect that the guy was out of state.

Of course, I can’t vouch for the quality of the police work, either.

  3. Having watched the case pretty closely as a new local, I can say what I said with a smidgeon of authority. When you have a retarded neighbor, with a screwy history, living in a house full of drug addicts, and this is known to the neighborhood  , cops should have tried a little harder to take a closer look at these people.
