What? No Prenup? It Reveals True Republican Values

Just when you thought the hypocrisy of the right wingers, defenders of marriage couldn’t get any more clearer, you find another example of why hetero-marriage is not better than any other kind. Have a look at this article:

Looking for a perfect little weekend vacation this fall? Here’s a travel tip you don’t hear very often: Head to Pittsburgh. Right away.

Seriously, get in the car and read this story later, because when you’re done reading, you’ll wish you’d left 10 minutes ago. There are towns with better vistas, sure, and there are getaways with more sunshine. But only Pittsburgh is the scene of the fabulously tawdry and surpassingly vicious spectacle that is the divorce of Richard Mellon Scaife.

Remember him? The cantankerous, reclusive 75-year-old billionaire who’s spent a sizable chunk of his inherited fortune bankrolling conservative causes and trying to kneecap Democrats? He’s best known for funding efforts to smear then-President Bill Clinton, but more quietly he’s given in excess of $300 million to right-leaning activists, watchdogs and think tanks. Atop his list of favorite donees: the family-values-focused Heritage Foundation, which has published papers with titles such as “Restoring a Culture of Marriage.”

The culture of his own marriage is apparently past restoring. With the legal fight still in the weigh-in phase, the story of Scaife v. Scaife already includes a dog-snatching, an assault, a night in jail and that divorce court perennial, allegations of adultery.

Oh, and there’s the money. Three words, people.

No. Pre. Nup.

Read on if you dare to discover what good old fashioned republican values are all about.

    From the article:

“Oh, and there’s the money. Three words, people.

    No. Pre. Nup.”

Two words, not three. No prenuptial or No prenup if you prefer.

Amazing what people get worked up about. Some rich dude is getting a divorce. So what? How is this “right wing hypocrisy? Did Scaife go on record railing against divorce? This has even less to do with hetro vs homo marraige or as you put it “any other kind”. ( I am not sure how many kinds of marriage you think there are) Do you not suspect that if there were as many gays married as straights there would be as many gay divorces as straights? What a post like this really reveals is the depth of hatred some have for others not like them. You guys hate Scaife not because he is rich and involved with politics or you would have to lump Soros into that same category. You hate him because he is rich, involved with politics, AND on the Republican side. Rich, involved and Dem=good. Rich, involved and GOP=bad. Must do hit piece. HMMMMM.

    Man,
You are so right brother - it is two words, not three. But the rest of your argument is based on hyperbole. I don’t hate him. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy of another right winger who suggests that there is something sanctimonious about marriage between man and a woman, but prove otherwise by their own actions. Don’t hate him. Love him. You didn’t read the article, now did you?

Dude! Two realities - 1st Its inevitable that the people who scream family values the loudest usually wind up, having an affair, screwing prostitutes, get caught having , “Gay” sex or are otherwise sexually alternernate/ repressed/ deviated in some manner and so unable to deal with it because of their engrained warped culture that they agressivly attack any consentual relationship that doesn’t involve Ward clever in June’s …well you know… just to keep their secret hidden and thats why we don’t like guys like this their to busy trying to control the sex organs of every other consenting adult instead of assuming a level of adult responsibility for their own.

Or they spend so much time trying to mandate what other families do that they ignore their own and it falls apart.

2nd . Regardless of these circumstances the whole gay marraige debate is just a bunch of bunk to get dumbasses to vote with the GOP and this guy appears to wasted alot of money to spread a message of bigotry. I say DUMBASSES because the people who buy ito this sort of thing don’t relize that its a muit point. Gay couples are asking their states for the same legal protections as heterosexual couple- fine all marriages are in fact a state recognized civil unions free from any particular religion imposing its doctrins as law- Looks clear there- And ther is plenty of gay clergy (Excomunicated or indepent with their own parishes) running around willing to perform the religion aspect of marriage if said couple chooses - wich is only about asking god for gods blessing on the union- Who are we to decide which unions god will bless? If god doesn’t want to give gods blessing then fine let him give said couple the plague or something - but gods blessing is not for man to give or take away and its not for the stateas an institution to dictate either. In the end state sanctioned or not, blessed or not, these commited couple will consider themselves married, they will call themselves married, and there is noting that any one can do about it -except complain so much about it that they ignore their own family responsibilites in the proscess.
